Well it's been awhile since I've written about Imie. He is just an energetic and lovable as ever! He had such a wonderful time over Thanksgiving playing with the visiting dogs in the house. Finally! Someone younger to play with! My dogs are all seniors so he really enjoyed the company of the visiting Doberman who is about his age. It took a few days for him to really figure out how to play with this new type of dog but by the end of a week they were crazy boys! And a little bit of turkey with each meal - he was in heaven! Today we have a new visiting dog - a little black lab and he is again trying to figure out the play routine with her. Normally he hasn't really cared to interact a lot with my other greyhounds - but I now see that is because they are all just TOO OLD! I foresee a busy happy 2 weeks of play ahead for Imie! Aside from the playtime he has settled in nicely. He hasn't been crated for at least 4 weeks and never has an accident. He runs in and out using the doggie door like he has done it all his life and he really enjoys having the freedom to do this. He does like his paper products! I've learned to 'Imie proof' the house so no more boxes of Kleenex have to die! He is like a stealth bomber when it comes to snatching a tissue or toy - one minute he is across the room the next he has whatever he wants and is running away! This boy is happy and just happy to be with people! He makes my day when he comes running in from outside and straight to me for attention as if to tell me 'I'm here - did you miss me? Let me tell you what I've been up to! I know you missed me - here I am!' Come by to see Imie - you will fall in love - What a great way to start the New Year.

Such a SMART BOY!
Imie has really settled down in the past week. His happy tail has healed and no longer wrapped - but still just as happy! He now knows how to use the doggie door - which he figured out by watching the other dogs. He comes when called and I just have to point to the crate and he goes right in and settles down. There have been no accidents in the house since the first day he came to live with us and he quickly understood that counter surfing is not allowed! But look out - he can find 'treasures' to bring back to his bed - I have no idea where he found them! He brings in sticks, the odd flashlight, dish towels and the top to the vacuum cleaner along with the toys that are spread around. The other day after a wind storm I found him trying to pull a tree limb across the yard that had fallen in the storm! Imie has picked out a doggie bed and spends most of his free time curled up relaxing on his selected bed. His eating has settled down as well. He no longer inhales the food, he eats quickly but not too fast. He is a little protective of his food dish - but we are working on that. Last Sunday he had his first clicker training class. He did really well. We are working on holding eye contact, sit, down, coming when called. Now I have to keep up the training until the next class. Imie loves to be petted and gives lots of kisses. Ask Jenn, our trainer, as she was surprised with an unexpected big wet kiss during training! If this guy was cat safe - I would snap him up in a flash! He is full of life and full of love - just waiting for the right someone to come along!

First days in Foster
Imus came to my house on Saturday 11/1 and what a joy he is! Of course, the first hour was spent checking EVERYTHING out in the yard and in the house. He figured out the pool right away and walked around on the shelf in the pool -but then forgot where he was and walked right off into the deeper water! Won't do that again! He wore himself out and found his way to the open crate where he rested until I moved to the living room and he settled in on a dog bed there. I changed his happy tail bandage and after a little fussing he gave in and fell asleep while I finished. And Happy he is! The tail is constantly up and moving! The first feeding he was all about counter surfing to see what was going on - but now that he knows the food is going to come to him no more of that! Imus has mastered the stairs - going up and coming down so that is not an issue. No messes in the house either! Such a beautiful boy inside and out. He has the perfect greyhound build, beautiful markings and just LOVES people! The only thing I would change is the name! You can't miss with this guy!

Hello?
Forget talk to the paw....I have been waiting so long for someone to take me home...Everytime someone comes to look at us, I wag my tail and smile...I've wagged it so much that I now have a boo boo on the end. I'm not sure why those people always pass over my run. I am a very handsome boy, I've got a really good personality...I am fun! Look in your heart....is there room for me?

Smokin' Imus a Hero!
This afternoon, a bloodhound came in that is suspected to have gotten into rat
poison. She was severely anemic and losing blood fast. Things did not look
good for her. Among other treatments, she was administered a blood transfusion
donated by Smokin Imus. The bloodhound is beginning to improve. We gave Imus a
personal thank you of a can of i/d which was quick devoured. Hopefully, this
will be another life saved with the help of SEGA.
